Matthew is a furniture maker/sculptor, using local hard wood (Whych Elm, Oak and Beech).  He is self taught, brought up on a farm in Somerset; He has carved with wood since the age of eleven. 

'People usually draw their inspiration from their surroundings and my furniture has a wee bit of the sea in it as well as a bit of hill and Calgary Bay.'
